Alaska is arguably the most beautiful state in our great
nation and offers opportunities in nature that are not found elsewhere. Many times, Alaska calls on individuals who
can also make a difference in their new communities. Dr. Kim is one of those individuals. He is an
avid outdoorsman who has been coming to Alaska to hunt and fish for several
Growing up in Iowa, Dr. Kim received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He completed his residency and Gastroenterology fellowship with the UCLA Health Systems. He has been in practice for more than 20 years in Downey, California.
Dr. Kim believes that all patients deserve to be treated with compassion, respect, and dignity. He focuses on treating the entire patient and not just focusing on the gastrointestinal issues. This comprehensive care philosophy is shared by the founder of the MediCenter, Dr. R. Lynn Carlson, and the other health care providers at the MediCenter facilities
Gastroenterology is a service that per patient population is
severely lacking in the Kenai. Choice is a term not commonly used in
Alaska as we seem too rural to really offer competition, lower prices, and
higher quality. This topic has been something the MediCenter Medical
Group has taken on directly. " We are going to offer higher
quality care, lower the overall cost of healthcare, and improve the ability to
choose quality healthcare providers
" said Joseph
Dr. Kim is welcoming new patients and all insurances. He will begin seeing patients with MediCenter Specialties Clinic at 100 Trading Bay Rd STE 8, Kenai, Alaska 99611. Appointments can be made by calling 907-283-9110.
